Why Was Scuba Careers Founded

After decades of witnessing Divemasters and Instructors candidates being fast-tracked churned out like hotdogs in a factory and in many cases with minimal training becoming just another certification in the dive industry. Larry Wedgewood created Scuba Careers to change that.

The goal? To develop a new generation of dive professionals who lead with purpose, teach with integrity, and inspire others through mentorship and experience. This platform was built to help divers grow beyond certifications and become true leaders - on land, underwater, and within the global dive community

We teach more than Divemaster and Instructor courses, we cultivate leadership. We introduce mentorship early, guiding divers through purposeful leadership development long before they reach Divemaster or Instructor level. At every stage, from dive mentorship to Divemaster to Instructor.

Our training is built with the intent: to shape confident, skilled professionals who lead with empathy, excellence, and integrity. Created by Larry Wedgewood, PADI Course Director with over 35 years of international experience, Scuba Careers exists to help Canadian divers step forward, stop following, and become globally respected dive leaders.
